DOG CONTROL/DOG LICENSING
DOG CONTROL: In Jefferson County a Deputy Sheriff will respond and investigate the complaint. If a deputy is not available, a Madras Police Department Officer will respond for complaints occurring in the city limits of Madras.
DOG LICENSING: Jefferson County has teamed up with DocuPet to launch a innovative dog licensing program, designed to keep pets safe and families connected. Licensing not only ensures compliance with Jefferson County’s bylaws—it also protects your pet.
Every license comes with:
- A free tag linked to a secure online pet profile with photos, contact information, and care instructions.
- HomeSafe®, a 24/7 lost pet service with live support and real-time lost pet community alerts.
- A central location for finders to submit a Found Pet Report using the unique ID code on your pet’s tag.
With these features, lost pets can be identified quickly and reunited with their families faster.
All dogs must be licensed and vaccinated against rabies.
