Jefferson County seeks proposals for janitorial work in County buildings as specified herein. Contractors may submit proposals for one, all or any combination of the buildings. The contract(s) will be for two years and will be renewable for two additional two-year periods. Contractors will supply all personnel and equipment and County will provide all chemicals and supplies.
The following County facilities located in Madras are included in this request for proposals:

Proposals must be received in the Jefferson County Buildings & Grounds Department office at 169 SE 7th Street, Madras, OR 97741, prior to 1:00 p.m., on Monday, October 29, 2018, at which time bids will be opened at the same location. Contract proposals must be submitted in a sealed envelope, via mail or in person, plainly marked “Janitorial Proposal.” Proposals will be accepted only during the normal course of business from 7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and prior to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 29, 2018. No proposal will be considered which is received after the time mentioned. Faxed or electronically submitted proposals will not be accepted.
Copies of the Request for Proposals will be available on October 10, 2018 at the Jefferson County Buildings & Grounds Department office at 169 SE 7th Street, Madras, OR 97741. Office hours are from 7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
A Pre-Proposal Meeting will be held in the Commission Meeting room, located at 66 SE D Street, at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 19, 2018. The proposal and contract requirements will be discussed in the meeting and it is recommended that all interested Contractors attend.
The Contractor will be required to comply with Oregon statutory prohibitions against discrimination in employment. Contractor must be willing to enter into a service contract substantially similar to the attached contract with the County upon award. This RFP will be incorporated by reference into the service contract. It is anticipated that the Board of Commissioners will award this contract at 10:00 a.m. at the regularly scheduled Commission Meeting on November 7, 2018 to the most responsive responsible bidder and that the contract will be in effect on February 1, 2019.
